Hilton announces four hotels in Panama

U.S. Hilton chain announced it will operate in the city of Panama, four new hotels, each with a different brand, which opened between 2010 and 2011 as calculated by the company.
At the corner of Balboa Avenue with Aquilino de la Guardia is built Star Bay Tower project, known these days by the collapse of a containment wall, which led to partially close the road.
Hilton Panama, which will feature 351 rooms, will occupy 27 floors of the building-heights of 68 and will have a Las Vegas style casino, the company announced in a statement.
The Embassy Suites by Hilton Panama City will occupy 21 floors of Glass Tower, a 71-storey project will be built on 50th Street, between the towers Credicorp Bank and Global Bank.
In the communique, Hilton announced the start of construction in 2009 and its completion in October 2011. To date, construction has not begun.
Besides the hotel, 306 rooms, this building will have 32 floors of offices and in the last three will be a lounge bar and a holiday, said sources from Hilton Hotels Corporation.
Also in the bank will be the Doubletree by Hilton Panama City, which will be developed and operated by Blue Star Hospitality. The hotel, located on the corner between Via España and Avenida Federico Boyd will have 213 rooms and its opening is planned for spring 2010.
The fourth development is the Hilton Garden Inn Panama, which will be on the street corner A. Eusebio Morales and Enrique Geenzier in El Cangrejo. The hotel, developed by Metropolitan Hotels, will have 163 rooms and seven suites.
Each hotel will be the first of each brand in the country. “We are very excited about these developments in the city of Panama and our return to this beautiful city,” said Daniel Hughes, senior vice president of Operations for the Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America, for Hilton Hotels Corporation, according to the statement. “These additions reinforce our commitment to having a presence in one of the fastest growing destinations in the region,” he added.
